M-PATCH is carried by an interdisciplinary consortium featuring (a) content
experts (historians, linguists, philologists) with deep understanding of the heuristics and typology of
historical texts, corpus building and annotation, and their analysis; (b) scholars and developers with
outstanding expertise in state-of-the-art corpus modeling, annotation, (semi-)automated
transcription of manuscripts and other digital representations of textual artefacts, and processing of
IIIF-images; and (c) stakeholders from key institutions in the heritage sector.
Five research groups of Ghent University (Department of History, DiaLing/Department of Linguistics, LT3/Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication, Ghent Center for Digital Humanities, Department of Literary Studies), along with the Pirenne Institute for Medieval Studies are represented in the Consortium. They are joined by external partners from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (prof. Sébastien de Valeriola), Société des Bollandistes (dr. François De Vriendt), KBR/Royal Library in Brussels (dr. Jan Pauwels/dr. Ann Kelders), Ghent University's University Library (dr. Hendrik Defoort), and Public Library of Bruges (dr. Evelien Hauwaerts).
